Description
96 Decanter
The 2019 Southing is seductive, structured, and deeply delicious. Dark, brooding ripe cherry aromas lift out of the glass with dried red florals, sagebrush, Indian spices, and spearmint. Medium-bodied with exceptional fruit density and yet, weightlessness. This is all wound-up energy and tension expressed in layers of black cherries, salted dark chocolate, crushed stone minerals, conifer, and scintillating acidity. A finish marked by cedar spices, white pepper and juniper makes for a complex and heady Pinot. (JC) (4/2023)
95 James Suckling
Lots of hibiscus with lavender, sage and sandalwood. Medium- to full-bodied with terra-cotta, white pepper, ripe strawberries, dried citrus, and dark wet stone. Linear and very long. Drink or hold. (5/2023)

The 2019 Pinot Noir Southing is a rich, effusive wine. Bright red cherry fruit, rose petal, blood orange cinnamon and orange peel lend brightness to this mid-weight, articulate Pinot. This opens nicely with air, showing lovely density to play off its natural focus. (AG) (6/2022)
