Description
Winemaker Note
A brooding and intense wine. The aromas begin with notes of black cherry, tuberose and fig, then a myriad of savory spices, and a hint of jasmine. Firm, mature tannins—evidence of Ten’s ageability—are followed by a long, velvety finish.
98 James Suckling
Intense aromas of iron and metal shavings with sliced strawberries as well as lemon peel. Full-bodied with linear and layered tannins that are tight and very fine. The structure and length of this wine is really impressive and beautiful. This will age for decades.
95 Decanter
The 2019 Ten is floral, richly layered and balanced between light and dark aromatics. Dusty cherries, plums, Indian spices, dried herbs. Medium-bodied with sinewy tannins, compact red and black fruits, smoky clove, cedar, and tangy blood orange acidity ...tart, tart fruit on the finish. Herbs, cedar, mocha and mineral.
94 Vinous
The 2019 Pinot Noir Ten is bright, punchy and super-expressive. It shows a bit more depth and textural resonance than the Southing. Sweet red cherry fruit blood orange, plum and spice flesh nicely with a bit of time. There's plenty of energy and persistence to support a number of years of fine drinking.
